Alexandru Crisan: IMPERFECTION > “Erotoarchitecture is a portmanteau coined for a photographic series inspired by improbable and asymmetrical architectural details of existing buildings. Different in purpose and composition from both the isolated elements and the unitary execution of the so-called ‘erotic architecture’, the concept for Erotoarchitecture series holds an ambivalent vision. Unified by the unconventional theme, my images talk about the spatial continuity, about fluidity, about surprising details, curves or edges, about perfection, but mostly about the sought-after imperfection of architectural forms and shapes. They speak of the choice of the onlooker to engage him/herself in a sensual dialogue with such imperfections.”

Alexandru Crisan: INVERTED PYRAMID > “The Alien Structures photographs are part of a larger series entitled Impossible Architectures, which is a long-term open-ended project structured on three different tiers. The sequence that Im presenting in this entry puts under a hyper-realist intimate scrutiny several architectural images. The reflected image is, in fact, a new-born architectural space that enriches the world of the imaginary, highlighting the infinite possibilities to dream on. The world of dreams, the most intimate of spaces, becomes a never-ending speculation – perhaps a little Freudian, but nonetheless nourishing. It is not a haze, but a daydream, within which different scenarios may be played-out by the viewers imagination.”
